Important Update: Foreigners’ Seating and Entrance Gate

New information about Foreigners’ Seating and Entrance Gate:

Indian, Mainland Chinese, and people newly arrived from Tibet will be seated inside the Prayer Hall. All other attendees will be seated in tent areas surrounding the Prayer Hall. The Foreign seating section will be located in the Debate Hall and the tent area in front of the Debate Hall, on the East side.

ONLY the following language groups (using short range FM transmission) will need to sit close to their translator, in their designated areas, which will be marked in sections on the raised platform, at the front of the Debate Hall:

  • Japanese
  • Italian
  • French
  • Spanish

ALL other foreign language groups (English, Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese, Korean and Mongolian) can sit ANYWHERE in the designated area for Foreigners, but NOT in the areas listed above, which are reserved for short range transmission.

There will be a designated area where people with disabilities/ unable to sit on the floor can place their chairs.

Security Entry Gates:

The teaching venue is surrounded by a wall with gates, each of which is designated as the entrance for certain attendees.

The gate for all Indian Citizens and Foreigners (including foreign monks and nuns) is #6 & #7, which is on the East side of the Tashi Lhunpo Prayer Hall. The gate for Dignitaries, Latul Geshes and Senior Monks is #3. The gates for Tibetan monks are #1 & #8 and for Tibetan monks and nuns is #2. The gate for Tibetan lay people is #9.
