This Week’s Lamrim Quote – 9 June 2014

His Holiness
The Third Dalai Lama
Sonam Gyatso
(1543–1588)

“Stay absorbed in the meditative equipoise of the union of calm abiding and special insight, single-pointedly focused on the space-like emptiness which is absent of all extremes of elaboration. Then, coming out from this, you should meditate on the illusion-like emptiness of the post-meditative period when things appear as if they exist inherently though they do not. Then, suffused with compassion and bodhicitta, reaching the other shore of bodhisattva deeds through the practice of the union of method and wisdom, you become worthy of praise. Understanding this, being discontented with the dual paths of only either method or wisdom, training in the path of the union of method and wisdom is the tradition of the fortunate beings. Hence, one should make effort.”
