Today’s Lamrim Quote – 19 November 2012

Kyabje Yongzin
Trijang Rinpoche
(1901-1981)

“How to cultivate the patience that is unconcerned with respect to harm:

  • The offender’s lack of control
  • The inappropriateness of anger given that he has no control
  • The scriptural source for this
  • How anger is inappropriate if one thinks of one’s own karma
  • Consequently, the appropriateness of being patient as if it were a medical examination

How to cultivate the patience that accepts suffering:

  • Countering the categorical aversion to suffering that arises
  • Considering the positive qualities of suffering itself
  • It is not difficult if you familiarize yourself in small steps”
